In addition to the organizations below, be sure to access local services that can provide immediate attention and care. Some of these include:

Call 911
if the crisis is a life-threatening emergency. Make sure to notify the operator that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for an officer trained in crisis intervention or trained to assist people experiencing a psychiatric emergency.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline / 988
Provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, and prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones. Call 1-800-273-8255 or call, text, or chat 988, to be connected to trained counselors who will listen, understand how each person’s problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary. They also offer a chat service called “Lifeline Chat,” which connects individuals in crisis with counselors who provide support and share resources.

- Social Media help with Suicide– If you are worried about someone on social media, you can contact safety teams, who will reach out to connect the user with the help they need.

NAMI HelpLine (National Alliance on Mental Illness)
The NAMI HelpLine provides the one-on-one help and information necessary to tackle tough challenges that you, your family, or friends are facing. Stay connected through chat, call 1-800-950-NAMI (6264), or email them for support. NAMI also offers support groups that are peer-led and offer participants an opportunity to share their experiences and gain support from other attendees.
Teen Line
Highly trained teen listeners provide support, resources and hope to any teen who is struggling. CALL 800-852-8336 Nationwide (6 PM – 10 PM PST), Text TEEN to 839863 (6 PM – 9 PM PST) or email them.
YouthLine
A free teen-to-teen crisis support and help line. YouthLine is confidential to a point- while we will never share conversations had on the lines, we are mandatory reporters. If a young person is unable to agree to safety for themselves or another person, or if abuse is occurring, YouthLine contacts other agencies to ensure the best support and safety for the young person in crisis.
